Claudia was born in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and grew up in Baltimore, Puerto Rico and Colorado with her parents, a chemist and a doctor, who traveled to study medicine. While at CSU Claudia became actively involved with Lambda Theta Nu, Sorority. Claudia worked in banking before enrolling at the Colorado School of Mines. Following graduation she was recruited to work at Xcel Energy as a Power System Trader before her joining the Platte River Power Authority. Claudia is a successful small business owner, operating Krazy Karls Pizza, in Fort Collins. She volunteers as a translator for a small catholic church in Johnstown, where she resides with her husband Nate and their 2 year old son, Marco, their “greatest gift”. She travels to Mexico 2-3 times a year to visit family.
