Johanna Leyba, Associate Vice Chancellor for Inclusive Excellence at the University of Denver is a dynamic leader who brings 25 years experience working in and for historically underrepresented communities. Her work has focused on self-sufficiency, college access, and diversity and inclusion. She earned a BA in Sociology from the Colorado College, and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado, Denver, with an emphasis on Community Development. She has worked in multiple sectors including corporate, government, nonprofit and higher education. In her time at DU, she has made lasting impacts on the campus structure and the lives of students, staff and faculty of color as they establish their own definition of success. As an employee, volunteer at multiple nonprofits and as a mentor, she has lent her talents and experience in strategic planning, impactful collaborations and organizational effectiveness.
