María Corral is the Communications Coordinator for the Service Employees International Union, (SEIU) Local 105 in Denver, Colorado. In this position, she oversees communication strategy and collateral development. Her passion for social justice initiated in grassroots organizing, community-based organizations and education leading to a degree in Law and Society from the University of Denver. Her diverse set of skills include community outreach, building collaborative relationships and advocacy.
María is a founding board member of the Colorado Organization of Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR). For 18 years, COLOR focus is on building a movement of Latinas, their families and allies through leadership development, organizing and advocacy. She also serves as the chair of the University of Denver Latino Alumni Association and volunteers at numerous community organizations.
Most recently, María joined the University of Denver’s Latino Leadership Institute as a fellow in the 2016 Cohort at the Daniels College of Business further demonstrating her commitment to learning, service and leadership.
María’s most prized achievement is her daughter, IrianaBelén a senior at St. Mary’s Academy and 2016-2017 freshman majoring in Public Policy and Economics at the University of Redlands in California.
