AliciaRose Martinez

AliciaRose Martinez is a veteran educator and Spanish teacher in the Lewis-Palmer School District, located in Monument, CO. Alicia has served community agencies throughout the Pikes Peak region since the mid-2000s. She facilitated partnerships between volunteers and area schools that promote educational programming on sustainability and community engagement. While studying abroad, she organized leadership and team-building initiatives for youth with varying physical and learning abilities. Alicia is a participant in Food for Thought, a non-profit community forum that hosts events about important and often divisive issues. Alicia is a current Fellow of the Latino Leadership Institute at the University of Denver. She studied Romance Languages and American Cultural Studies at the undergraduate level before earning her master’s degree in teaching, both from Colorado College. She resides in Colorado Springs with her daughter.
