Marcia Romero

Marcia brings more than 20 years of experience in the private and nonprofit sectors to the Latino Leadership Institute. She has been with CoBiz Financial since 2012, where she manages the community relations portfolio. Marcia’s professional experience includes integrated client and community relationship building, corporate foundation management, special event planning, strategic internal and external communications, and fundraising. She began her career at Merrill Lynch before transitioning to the nonprofit sector at the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. Marcia completed the Hispanic Chamber of Denver’s Leadership Development Program and sits on the boards of LAEF (Latin American Educational Foundation), Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver, Latinas First Foundation, Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association and Fiesta Colorado Dance Company. She has studied abroad extensively in Mexico City and is fond of the years she spent as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader during the Super Bowl seasons of the late ’90s. Marcia is most honored to be a mother to Dominic and Lucas, her talented and athletic twin sons.
