Matthew Rivera

Matt is a Denver, CO based Organizational Effectiveness practitioner and Public Administration consultant. He focuses on community, people, and connection when helping organizations realize lasting, systemic transformation. With more than 10 years ongoing experience in local government, he has delivered public sector victories in a number of fields: election administration, public safety, and employee experience.

More specifically, Matt has worked with several national agencies and criminal justice stakeholders representing Bernalillo County Government (Albuquerque, NM) as a Public Safety Coordinator and an Administrative Chief in the Metropolitan Detention Center. He currently serves on a national advisory board for jail and prison reform, and maintains a role with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department (Denver metro area).

Prior to moving, Matt was as a member of Professional Faculty for the University of New Mexico, teaching Human Resource Management and Organizational Development. He also helped create and trained a university sponsored professional certification program for aspiring Hispanics – specializing in communication skills and conflict resolution.

Matt possesses an MBA – Human Resource Management along with a B.A. – Economics. He is currently dual certified, possessing the designations of Senior Human Resource Professional (Human Resource Certification Institute) and Senior Certified Professional (Society for Human Resource Management).

Matt’s greatest achievements are his wife and two lovely children, and he shows his dedication to family and community as the Co-founder and Principal Fund Advisor for Team Tío – a non-profit fund that assists underprivileged children gain access to team sports.
