“My entrepreneurship class is about helping my students find what intrinsically motivates them or lights their fire.”
“The Ignite program was a space where I felt safe to show up as my most authentic self, as a Latina leader.”
“There was a sense of re-calibrating my contribution. I realized why my voice matters.”
“We constantly battle stereotypes that we’re not strong enough. That’s simply untrue.”

Maria Molina
When Maria discovered the Latino Leadership Institute and their Ignite program through LinkedIn, she knew it was the right fit for her.
The opportunity to connect with other Latino professionals who shared a similar cultural background was a game-changer.

Luz Rosario
Brooklyn-born veteran and LLI Grad Luz Rosario shattered limiting expectations. Traditional career guidance, she recalls, offered a future confined by stereotypes for young women of color. “The people that looked like me,” Luz says, “weren’t talking about becoming doctors or engineers. It was about getting a secretarial job.” Undeterred, she forged a path in the Air Force, rising to Senior NCO (E-7).

CC Cantabrana
Driven by a desire to serve her community, CC Cantabrana, a DACA recipient, turned a volunteer opportunity with the city of Chandler, Arizona into a fulfilling career path. Today, over ten years later, she plays a key role in the city’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team.

Gabriela Zuno
Principal, Cherry Creek School District
Through the LLI I had the opportunity to connect with incredible people, including someone from across the country who serves on a similar educational leadership board. We were able to connect in person at a national conference later that year. This is the power of connections.

Juan Escobedo
Juan describes the internal shift the LLI helped him achieve: “There was a sense of recalibrating my contribution. I realized why my voice matters.” He concludes, “The LLI helped me create a level playing field in my head, my voice mattered just as much as any other leader. I might not always know the solution, but I can bring the right ideas and people together to further our goals. This newfound confidence allows me to contribute more meaningfully and work towards a more inclusive world that has better mental health supports.”

Santo Alvarez
